About

Daniel is a registered clinical and forensic psychologist who provides adult assessment and treatment. He has worked in the community, inpatient, and outpatient substance abuse treatment settings with clients experiencing difficulties, including depression, anxiety, trauma, panic, addiction, psychosis, and personality disorders.

He has also worked with those who engage in complex problematic behaviours such as stalking, sexual offending, and family violence, along with those experiencing acute, chronic and severe mental illness.

Daniel works mainly from a cognitive-behavioural framework, drawing on acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, and schema therapy.

He earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from Monash University after completing his Bachelor of Arts with Honours, graduating first in his class, and receiving the Ross Day Medal for exceptional achievement in his Psychology Honours program.

Daniel has since combined his clinical practice with academic, trainer, and consultant work. His research has focused on forensic risk assessment, violence, recidivism, and offender treatment evaluation. He also co-developed the VP-SAFvR, a screening tool for police members working with family violence cases. This work was recognised with a Gold Award in the 2017 Australian Crime and Violence Prevention Awards as part of the Enhancing Police Responses to Family Violence Project.

Daniel holds an area of practice endorsements in clinical and forensic psychology. He is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society and Australian Clinical Psychology Association and a Fellow of the APS Clinical and Forensic Colleges. Daniel is a Psychology Board of Australia board-approved supervisor.
